Power lines might be over land owned by the power company or in an easement where someone else owns the land. The local Planning Commission may be helpful in figuring out who owns what where. PEPCO lines are typically on land owned by PEPCO [at least in Prince George's County]. If you see someone farming the land, they are probably renting it from PEPCO. In other places, the farmer owns the land and the power company has gotten an easement to construct the towers and maintain them. I believe the power lines Sue wants to check are on land owned by Baltimore Gas & Electric Company. Good Birding!
