Yes, indeed, it is true that I have now officially moved to California. April and May was hectic for me, with six different VENT tours sandwiched between the Big Day effort and the pressure of picking a place and starting to move in. I complete the moving in process in a few days and have been driving my car (full of junk) cross-country, with a stop-off in Minnesota for another tour (Minnesota-North Dakota). I officially start living at the new place around 5 July, though, naturally, that doesn;t mean that life will slow down any. I will be living in Irvine, which is in Orange County, CA, just about 45 minutes south of L.A. (and 1.5 hrs north of San Diego). The new apartment is just minutes from the San Joaquin Marsh, and not far from a number of other good biridng locales. I'm actually most looking forward to sneaking into Baja California whenever possible... My Maryland ties are not gone, however, and I'll still be following MDOsprey and periodically coming back for visits (my parents are still here). I also have a couple projects that will keep me tied to Maryland as well. I'll actuially be in state in late July, late August, and again in October. But it is painful to leave in the first atlas year, after I've spent 10 years looking forwrad to another MD atlas effort. C'est la vie. Hasta la proxima, Marshall Iliff PS - At least for the moment I will continue to serve as Regional Editor for the mid-Atlantic. Please do send me any spring sightings (March-May) for the upcoming spring report! *********************** Marshall Iliff miliff@aol.com Irvine, CA ************************ ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
