Today I saw a Spotted Sand. at the Paper Mill Rd. flats. The wetland is almost entirely meadow, but a few channels are still wet. I walked out into the meadow (it was only a bit soggy) and flushed the bird.

Safe dates for Spotted ended June 30, so I will probably never know if this bird was a nester or a very early migrant. If anyone has seen a Spotted at Paper Mill in June, please let me know.

Other birds seen or heard: Green Heron, Great Crested Flycatcher, Warbling Vireo, Am. Redstart, Common Yellowthroat.
