Maybe this bird is settled in for a long stay. I saw only one duckling with the female Wood Duck. For those heading to Black Hill from the Baltimore area who don't wan't to deal with Frederick traffic and I-270, I found a fairly quick and painless route that saves a lot of miles. It may not be quick in rush hour, but what is? Take I-70 west to Rt. 97 south, go 6-8 miles to Rt. 650 (New Hampshire Ave.). Turn right, and in less than a mile bear left on Sundown Road. Continue through Laytonsville, where the road becomes Brink Road. There are two 3-way stops on this road; bear right at each to stay on Brink Road. The road ends at Rt. 355, where a right takes you immediately to West Old Baltimore Road on the left. From there just follow Paul O'Brien's directions to the ibis. If you turn left onto Rt. 355 from Brink Road, you are just a couple of miles from Clopper Lake.
