Then a crow chased a great blue heron, squawking, out of the woods, and the GBH landed on my roof, out of sight, and the crow landed in a nearby tree. Quiet for about 20 seconds, then the GBH flew away from the woods towards the creek, and the crow flew back into the woods from whence it came. There were several other crows flying among those trees, but I couldn't see if there was a nest. Maybe 5 crows, flew around a small area, and then flew away. I am assuming they are fish crows, as that's what I hear most, but they were strangely silent during this event and I can't tell by look (tips welcome). Never saw anything like this before.
