Since this is past the "safe date" for this species, these youngsters could well have dispersed from the breeding sites along Sligo Creek mentioned in Tom Stock's email. Unfortunately no adults were seen, but we also had adult/young Green Herons and adult/young Great Blues -- all past the safe dates but probably breeding somewhere in the area, Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper Silver Spring, MD on 07/12/2002 12:28 PM, Tom Stock at ALTOMOMATIC@AOL.COM wrote: > You could try along Sligo Creek Parkway, where there are nests both near the > tennis courts at the Parkway's intersection with Piney Branch Road, and across > Piney Branch near where Domer Avenue intersects the Parkway. > > Good luck. > > Tom Stock > Silver Spring > > > In a message dated Fri, 12 Jul 2002 10:06:08 AM Eastern Standard Time, > kbert59@YAHOO.COM writes: > ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
