Fallon" Subject: Local atlasing surprise MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit While atlasing y'day, in a seldom-visited area, I came across a Black-billed Cuckoo - very unusual in this pat of the state. Remarkably, the first atlas also has this species in the same block, and even tho' I had the same block then too, I had not made the observation. So it would be interesting to know whether that earlier sighting was in the same quarter-block. Surely this can be recovered from the records? A mini-route record is a possibility but not likely if the bird was near the same place, because not near enough to a public road to be heard.
