I got over to Lake Needwood by about 1:10 and could not find the bird anywhere. After about 20 minutes I gave up. Then Bob Mumford easily found it a short time later. By the time I got back @ 4:30 Rob Hilton, Lisa Shannon, Paul Pisano, Dave Czaplak and Mary Ann Todd had it pinned down so I could actually see it. My guess is that it was standing behind one of the Canada Geese when I was there and was not visible. The alternative explanation is unacceptable (but distinctly possible). No matter; all that ends well... Number 290 for Montgomery Co. Paul O'Brien Rockville, Mont.
