When I departed at 2:20, it was on actively feeding on a small mud bar = about fifty yards out on the WEST side of Needwood Road (the lake side, not = the mud flat side). I believe the bird to be a juvenile. Also present: two wood duck broods of four young each, one brood near = full grown, three killdeer, two spotted sandpipers, two green herons, a kingfisher, an Eastern kingbird, and, of course, the ubiquitous mallards = and Canada geese, now mostly flightless.
