I agree about trying to stay cool -- even the birds seem beaten down by the heat, except for the endlessly singing wrens in our garden plus robins and cardinals each morning and evening. One thing to remember, everyone, is that shorebirds are moving and any drying pond or pool could host a nice surprise. (Like the Avocet at Needwood...) We checked out Brown's Bridge Rd., and found the shoreline entirely overgrown so not any good this year. Tridelphia looks good but a couple of days ago only hosted a few Killdeer. Keep looking!
