It was near a = first-summer Common Loon for a while, offering a great chance for = comparison. A couple of times the Pacific Loon called. Both loons were = feeding actively for some time and surfaced within 50 feet of me. I had = parked at Kingfisher Overlook, walked over the dam, and into the shady = path right by the lake. A Slaty Skimmer or two, several mating pairs of = Halloween Pennants, and other dragonflies, were distracting me. =20 I then went to Black Hill Regional Park, also in Montgomery County, to = look for the immature White Ibis. I failed to find it on two separate = occasions by 2 pm. A Comet Darner with its bright red abdomen was a = nice distraction, as were the dozens of dragonflies of seven additional = species. =20 Rob Hilton rhilton@csa.com Bethesda, Md.=20 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =========================================================================
