It was coming to meal worms, loading up its beak and leaving, always in the same direction. Code as FY, food for young I thought. More perserverance in observation allowed me to see the bird find itself a private place and scarf down the worms itself!!! Part of what surprised me was my ignorance about what they eat. I had sparrows pegged for seed eaters, except for feeding young. Now I know differently. Always something new and interesting while watching birds. That's what makes it so much fun.
