I saw 2 at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens (KAG) this (Sat, 8/10) morning. Not much else out of the ordinary there, but still lots of activity. On Thursday I saw 38 KILLDEER at Kenilworth Park, which is a local high count for me. Taking Marshall's recent words of admonishment to heart, I have to question the recent siting of White Ibis at KAG. Gail's message starts with, "Beery and I went down to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens..." With a name like Beery, I have to wonder if, perhaps, he was actually looking at a Great Blue, just through the bottom of a mug. Just kidding, of course, as Gail & Berry are two local birders who help keep the rest of us in line. I'm just green with envy. I have now been out of town for DC's first Mountain Bluebird, Ash-throated Flycatcher, and White Ibis. So in case you all want to know when next to bird in DC - my next trip is the first week of September.
