Afterwards, we went looking for the Tundra Swan reported earlier from the vicinity of Roosevelt Island as neither of us could recall for certain whether we had seen this species in the District. We relocated the bird very close to the Virginia shoreline just downstream of the island, best viewed from the bridge (by scope) or by walking down the bike path. It slowly swam off towards the opposite shore, and was very loosely in the company of Canada Geese.
