The statewide grid of Atlas blocks has been added to the = MERLIN website (www.mdmerlin.net). This website has been previously = discussed on this listserve and a link to it is on the MOS website. It's purpose is similar to the ones developed already by J.B. Churchill = in western MD and Fred Fallon for PG County..... to locate where you = are if you don't know what block you're in! Quick Instructions:=20 Click on Make a Map and then on the OK button on the bottom of the next = screen; (Wait 5 minutes for the map browser to load over a regular phone line; = once loaded, the remaining instructions usually go much faster!!) Click on County button, then on the name of county from the drop down = list; Click on top button next to "Navigate" and move red zoom box to area of = interest, then click on "zoom" at top to activate; (Green arrow button at top returns to former view if you guessed wrong) Click on manila folder in "Layer Control" panel on left, then on BBA = button, then Submit button at bottom to activate. (This brings up blocks and block labels at the same time) You can also click on 3rd button from left at top for "Info Tips", then = click on the area of interest on the map. In a few seconds, all the = MERLIN layers that are active in that area will come up in the panel on = the left, including the Atlas Block for that area (burried about 3/4 = down in the list). There's much more you can do with MERLIN, including looking for public = lands, looking for different habitat types, public boat ramps/access = points, etc.. If anyone has ArcView 3.2 and would like a copy of the Atlas grid for = your own uses, just send me a message offline.
