Falling seed could also attract insects and rodents in such a dense community. You may keep it very tidy, but some people will take offense anyway. If you have a balcony and can keep the feeder low and hidden from view, you may be able to avoid problems unless someone notices the flocks of birds. Or perhaps try one of those feeders that fits in a window and actually hangs inside your apartment. With tales of West Nile, don't be surprised if that comes up in your next warning. Good luck!
