A pair of kestrels were hunting in fields along the road before Lily Pons, but besides a few Great Egrets and Great Blues and Green Herons, there was a definite lack-o-birds. Only Killdeer in the shorebird category. A stop along Oland Road produced at least 7 Upland Sandpipers, and a pair of Eastern Meadowlarks. There were 3 uppies in the eastern part of the field, and 4 more in the western part of the same field. Since the field looked recently mowed, the sandpipers were easy to see, and afforded very good scope views. Wish I'd brought the digital camera!
