A half dozen GRASSHOPPER SPARROW babies were fluttering around. A pair of BLUE GROSBEAKS (alas without any young in evidence). 4 LEAST SANDPIPERS and a single SOLITARY. 5 BOBLINKS were bubbling away. SONG SPARROWS, INDIGO BUNTINGS and COMMON YELLOWTHROATS were VERY abundant. I am keeping my eyes peeled for lark sparrow. Marshall tipped me off that late August is prime time to look for them.
