That is: Logging companies will cut down only the most mature trees & someone (logging companies?) will house clean the debris from the floors of our national forests. But "Why?", you may ask. Our selfless, environmentally minded leaders have explained (shame on me cause I just don't get it) these actions aren't primarily for logging interests - they're to help prevent forest fires! Around Old Hanover Rd & in Worthington Valley we can see the effects of logging only the large trees. Every native plant & shrub in the way is scraped off & destroyed as the logs are dragged over the land to the waiting trucks. This is not to mention the change in habitat for critters.
