I wasn't able to chase it, but a peep with a light orange wash on the breast could be either a Rufous-necked Stint or a Little Stint. Both have been seen in the Middle Atlantic States, but very rarely. The ID requires a close and careful examination, but it can be done. Paul O'Brien Rockville, Mont.
