I observed this beautiful bird from about 8:10 until a little after 9 AM. It was at the pond described in the earlier posts, the last one before the lighthouse. I got great looks at the bird at fairly close range, and saw the cinnamon wing lining once as the bird preened. Other birds present were many peeps, both Yellowlegs, several Willets, Killdeer, several Solitary Sandpipers, a Great Blue Heron, Laughing Gulls, many Red Winged Blackbirds, and a few Greater Black Backed Gulls. The weather was very windy and the bayside surf was rough, but I was fortunate to have a break in the rain while I was at the park. The Godwit was still present when I left.
