I could not find the bird as of noon. Maybe moved out with the break in the weather. I did find a nice assortment of birds while searching around the ponds. As I remember, they included: 60+ Brown Pelican 2 Double-crested Cormorant 1 Snowy Egret 1 first year Little Blue Heron (a nice comparison) 4 Green-backed Heron 2 Royal Terns 4 Forster's Tern 2 Osprey 1 Greater Yellowlegs 6 Lesser Yellowlegs 3 Short-billed Dowitchers 1 Solitary Sandpiper 1 Spotted Sandpiper 3 Semipalmated Sandpipers 25 Least Sandpiper 1 Western Sandpiper 1 juv. Sanderling 4 Great Black-backed Gulls 6 Herring Gull lots of Laughing Gulls 100+ Tree Swallows 20 Barn Swallows 1 Chimney Swift 2 Purple Martins 10 Eastern Kingbirds (probably migrants) 3 Yellow Warblers 1 Blue Grosbeak Butterflies I can remember quickly: Tiger Swallowtail Clouded Sulfur Cloudless Sulfur Common Buckeye Eastern Tailed Blue Painted Lady Sachem's Skipper 2 Wood Nymphs Dragonflies I can remember quickly: Seaside Dragonlets (ovipositing) Green Darner Four-spotted Pennant Holloween Pennant There were other insects but I gotta go.
