I have sent a photo that I took of a crane flying (at Bosque del Apache NWR, NM) with the hope that the shape and profile will match what was seen. No reply yet. The head ranger, who spotted the bird, is quite familiar with Great Blue Herons as they frequent the park however since I didn't see the bird, I can only go by her description that she knew this was something different, a bird she had never seen before. Thanks for your comments. I hope we can resolve this but am not sure we can.
