MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" I did hear some crows again in the Zoo area late last week, but have seen none. I was hoping that maybe some fledged crows were moving in to the neighborhood to take over the old territory. Denise Ryan Washington, DC -----Original Message----- From: Zucker, Paul A. Have others in our area had similar experiences? Has West Nile decimated our Crow population? Good afternoon For the last 3 to four weeks we have not see any crows in Candy Cane City in Rock Creek Park near Meadowbrook stables. We have been feeding them for the last 7 years and suddenly in the middle of August no more of them. Dozens of our regular crows have vanished! I went to see the Audubon Society to report this anomaly and apparently I was the second person in the same day. Yesterday I did travel everywhere in Montgomery County on the Pike in Gaithersburg, etc., did not see any crow. Are you aware of a special program to destroy them, because of the Nile Virus. The sky is empty and no more sounds in the sky...strange feeling. I called the MNPPC Natural Resources to report this situation, but I was the first to notify them. Do you have any information? Thank you.
