There are often prolonged periods of absence, particularly in late = spring and early summer where Shrimpy goes off to perhaps sow some wild = oats. Anyway, there is one and only one Kelp Gull so far in Maryland and = has been seen every month since 2/99. I believe that the MD/DC RC is in the process of circulating a rather = large records package pertaining to the Kelp Gull. I'm sure that origin = will be one of major focuses or stumbling blocks of accepting this bird Regardless, it is a splendid looking bird during the winter.
