Actually I think its an alien from another planet = disguised as a Kelp Gull. This alien is very clever and is taking = advantage of a lot of free seafood, gathering behavioral information about = some of the most intelligent life forms on the planet (birders), and = disappearing occasionally to report to the mothership. =20 But half-seriously ... If someone has the time and money, perhaps someone can gather another = feather and have the DNA analyzed again. While on the topic ... I thought the article in the recent (did I say = recent ?) issue of MD Birdlife about the Kelp Gull was excellent. It was = very informative and gave a colorful history of the Sandgates Kelp Gull = phenomenon. I should have known Jane was collecting all that information = for a reason. Kudos.
