All of the water and the wonderful shorebirds from last Monday were gone, but this was a nice replacement. Also present were numerous Killdeer, a Pec and 2 Wavy Sandpipers. The new species "Wavy Sandpiper" can be identified as any peep too far out in the heat waves for any sort of recognition. Inspired by last weekends reports from Hurlock, I visited Hurlock WWTP this afternoon. I was rewarded with another Buff-Breasted Sand and a Golden Plover on the dike separating the east cells. Also present was the previously reported Bonaparte's Gull, a Green Heron, 6 Ruddy Duck, both yellowlegs, Least and Semi Sands. I also visited the pig farm on Indiantown Rd hoping for the Western or the Baird's. Found neither, only Least and Semis.
