Some of the highlights are listed below. There are still some shorebirds (7 species), waterfowl (6 species) and swallows (5 species) at the Great Oak Landing Rd Pond including White-rumped Sandpiper, shoveler, Ring-necked Duck, Cliff and rough-winged swallows. The shorebird species at the Chesapeake Farms Waterfowl viewing pond numbered nine for the weekend including one adult *golden-plover* (present both days). There were Tennessee Warbler and Warbling Vireo at Old St. Paul's (Ricaud's Branch Rd) on Sunday (8 Sept). Eastern Neck NWR was in good form too, we had a number of migrants on the Duck Inn Trail including Canada Warbler, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Orchard Oriole, and, best of all, an *Olive-sided Flycatcher* that was seen on Sunday at the end of the trail near the Chester River. We also had four tern species (Forster's, Common, Caspian and Royal), Merlin, and a Virginia Rail (the latter along Bogle's Wharf Rd). We also had a Tundra Swan the presumably summered at Allen's Lane Landing, and a Least Flycatcher at Chesapeake Landing (off Buck Neck Rd). The weather was September at its best, I hope everyone else had good birding this weekend.
