Friday (9/7) saw a fair migration of Osprey down river (four in 40 minutes). Saturday was Kingfisher day. From 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM I saw a dozen Belted Kingfisher noisily rattling down river, usually in groups of two or more. In the woods only Magnolia Warbler and Red-eyed Vireo as migrants. New bird at the park for me after 10+ years of listing.......Rock Dove. Ugh. Two dead crows were found in the picnic area Saturday. Anyone with the recommended disposal procedure for dead crows please share with me so I can forward to the park staff. They do know that no organization is testing in this area, but we're wondering whether landfill or woods disposal is appropriate. Crows are still common in the park.
