Richard Donham will lead this trip, which usually involves a Fall warbler walk to the hawkwatch for migrants. The warblering should be good, and the hawk watch excellent, with the right weather. Meeting Place: Elk Neck State Park, Turkey Point parking lot. Time: 8:00 am (half day). Suggested equipment: bug spray (for ticks). Conveniences: trees and a "pot-a-potty" at the Hawkwatch. Admission: None. Questions: call Richard Donham 610-932-0634 or email donham@udel.edu Turkey Point Directions: Traveling north on I95, take the North East exit (Exit 100) and turn South on Rt. 272. Take Rt. 272 south through the town of Northeast. Continue south past the Elk Neck State Park Headquarters, swimming area entrance, camping area entrance, and boating area entrance. Next you will pass through Chesapeake Isles and come to a dirt parking lot (It is about 15 miles from I95 to the Turkey Point parking lot). This is our meeting place for birdwalks. To get to the Hawk Watch you park and walk around the gate and follow the trail through one field and in the center of the next field is our sign and picnic tables. This is our Hawk Watch (3/4 mile walk - one way). If you continue on the trail, the lighthouse is a few minutes further.
