I pis= hed in a young red fox. It seemed to be very intersted in me and the bir= ds around. At first I was crouched down pishing and it approached with i= n twelve feet. I kept my movement to a minimum, and it hung around. I= t followed me down the trail keeping its distance, finally I had to chase= it away cause it was interfearing with my birding. It didn't seem to be= rabbid, but it is hard to look at birds, when a fox could come bit you i= n the leg. Anyway, here are the results... 1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo 5 Pewee 5 Red-eyed Vireo 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 4 Veery 1 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH 1 Swainson's Thrush 2 Wood Thrush 1 Parula 13 Magnolia Warbler 3 Black-throated Blue Warbler 1 "Baypoll" Warbler 3 Black-and-white Warbler 9 Redstart 4 Ovenbird 13 Yellowthroat My fall count of warblers at MPEA up to 17 species now. The Gray-cheeked= and Swainson's Thrush were mixed in with a flock of Robins that was abou= t 200 strong.
