A big, honking, green/gray warbler without bars, full eye ring, and bright pink legs. Considerably larger than a Common Yellowthroat I saw shortly after. Both it and the Phila. Vireo were in the Fore Bay Pond area, at the far end of the lake from Broken Land Parkway. Other nice birds I saw there were a Tennesee Warbler, female Indigo Bunting, and a Phoebe calling in the distance. Around the bridge was a Nashville Warbler. In all, it was a 10 warbler species two hours. The tally, not including the usual suspects (Chickadees, Titmice, Nuthatches, Woodpeckers): Double-crested Cormorant -2 Pied-billed Grebe - 1 Great Egret - 1 Black Crowned Night Heron - 1 (immature) Ring-billed Gull - 1 (2nd year?) Chimney Swift - 6 E. Phoebe - 1 Red-eyed Vireo - 1-2 Fore Bay Phila. Vireo - 1 Fore Bay Black-throated Blue Warbler - 1 male, south shore Black-throated Green - 4 Bridge and Fore Bay Magnolia - 3 Bridge and Fore Bay Redstart - 1 female Bridge Nashville - 1 Bridge Tennesee - 1 Fore Bay Common Yellowthroat - 1 male, Fore Bay Connecticut - 1 , not a male, Fore Bay N. Waterthrush - 1, heard, South shore Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 1, heard, south shore Indigo Bunting - 1 female, Fore Bay All birds seen between 0700 and 0900. Hooray for north winds! I am fairly certain that at least three of these species were not seen on Saturday's fall count (Grebe, Phila, Conn.). Hans didn't mention the immature Cape May he told me about. I missed the Pintail, but was on the wrong side of the lake, and my binos just weren't up to it. I had a dead Cape May at my workplace in Anne Arundel County later this morning. Also a dead female C. Yellowthroat and a Magnolia with a big headache. They were moving overnight!
