I didnt get out till about 9:30. by then the warblering was not to exciting (three Yellowthroats). Did get my first White-throated Sparrows (3) of the fall along with Song Sparrow (1). I also had a small flock of Cedar Waxwings (5) and similar numbers of Eastern Bluebird which have been absent all summer. With the lack of land birds I turned my attention to Perry Point's waterfront. i was hoping to catch tht Sandhill that was reported 15 miles up river (Conowingo) but that was not to be had... i didnt have a terrible day however. here is a list of the water-related birds and migrating raptors that I saw: Fish Crow (21) Belted kingfisher (2) Ring-billed Gull (1) Caspian Tern (1) Forster's Tern (5) Canada Goose (50) Mallard (12) American Widgeon (1) Double-crested Cormorant (2) Pie-billed Grebe (2) Great Egret (10) Great Blue Heron (5) Bald Eagle (3) Osprey (1) Cooper's Hawk (2) Sharp-shinned Hawk (2) Braod-winged Hawk (7) I was surprised to see the egrets out number the herons 2 to 1!
