It was a pleasant fall morning with lots of activity following the frontal passage of Friday night. Diversity was not great but there were lots of birds about, including about 100 Blue Jays, and perhaps dozens of Flickers. Debbie Terry and I had our first-of-the-season Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers (2), White-throated Sparrow, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and Myrtle Warbler. We saw 6 species of warblers: Parula, Magnolia (~5), B-t Blue female, B-t Green (6-8), Yellowthroats (~10), Myrtle, and 3-4 Scarlet Tanagers, about 5 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, 2 Swainson's Thrushes, and a _Lincoln's Sparrow_ right by the circle. We saw 3 Broadwings overhead. I saw several more White-throated Sparrows and a Swamp Sparrow on the maintenance trail after Debbie left. Then I ran into Jamie W and Chris (?) who added Kingfisher and Cooper's Hawk. It turns out Debbie and I missed them by dancing a perfect circle of evasion around the mansion. Collectively we had about 45 species.
