The bird was located close to the road with a large group of PEEP, DUNLIN, YELLOWLEGS, a PECTORAL SANDPIPER. just as the road straightens from the curve as the road initially starts along Bear Swamp. The bird was Pectoral size with a clear, yellow breast except for dark streaks across the upper breast; a distinct dark line crossing the lower part of the eye (which accented a distinct white eye ring); a clear, broad, whitish supercilious line which did not narrow behind the eye; and a solid, dark cap with a sharp edge at the rear of the head (the cap appeared solid and dark -- a rust coloration was not easy to see, probably due to the position of the sun, but was evident when the bird turned its head at certain positions). Also at the same spot was a soaring MERLIN which did not help the shorebird watching. Two GOLDEN PLOVERS, BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, STILT SANDPIPERS, LONG & SHORT -BILLED DOWITCHERS, both YELLOWLEGS, large flock of DUNLIN & PEEP, and a very large flock of AVOCETS were at Raymond Pool. Also flying about was a flock of SNOW GEESE.
