The watch began in 1995, and the site is manned by volunteers from the Cecil Bird Club and other affiliated Clubs in the area. Generally counters are only present from ~ 9AM - 12 PM. Last year we had complete coverage, but it seems we may not have such good fortune this year. ( Acutally, we have only missed a few days thus far, ) For more complete site information, including volunteering at the site, view www.udel.edu/cecilbirds This update includes data through 9/30. One count day was missed on 9/27, no data for 9/26. 966 raptors in 92.33 count hours. BV-14 TV-104 OS-71 BE-48 NH-6 SS-519 CH-48 RS-3 BW-58 RT-41 AK-35 ML-6 PG-4 UU-9 As per usual, we have counted very few BW at our site. In the next week or so, we should begin to see more RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS and a few Red-tailed are already on the move. I expect there will be more falcons tallied in the next few weeks as well.
