Highlights included yet another PHILADELPHIA VIREO at the ridge and a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH in the Maintenance Yard, as well as two Cape May (one bright, one dull) and two Tennessee Warblers. Twelve warbler species and three vireo species were seen, plus first sightings (for us) of some winter visitors. Diversity was good but numbers only so-so. Warblers: Black-throated Green (6), B-T Blue (2), Black-and-White (2), Blackpoll (1), Cape May (2), Magnolia (3), Parula (1), Redstart (1), Tennessee (2), Yellowthroat (6), Yellow-rump (2) plus Jim Lemert had a Palm in the Maintenance Yard. Vireos: Blue-headed (3), Philadelphia (1), Red-eyed (10). Other migrants: Ruby-crowned Kinglet (15), Golden-crowned Kinglet (1), Scarlet Tanager (8), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (2), Wood Thrush (2), Swainson's Thrush (4), Gray-cheeked Thrush (1), Brown Thrasher (6), Gray Catbird (8), Eastern Phoebe (6), Eastern Wood-Pewee (1), House Wren (6), Northern Flicker (20). Incoming winter birds: Winter Wren (1), White-throated Sparrow (12), Junco (1), Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (4).
