Subject:      Perry point 10/06/02 Sightings (fall is here)

I spent most of the day at work birding the Perry Point VA Hospital grounds
in Cecil County.  Many fall birds around with only a few summer birds
passing through.  I had 50 species today in about 6 hours birding.  Below
is a list of birds worth mentioning.

Raptors:
Osprey (1)
Bald Eagle (3)
Peregrin (1)
Turkey Vulture (6)
Black Vulture (7)
Cooper's (1)
Broad-winged Hawk (2)

Sparrows:
House (1)
White-throated (25+)

Towhee (1)

Waterfowl:

D.C. Cormorant (6)

Herons and Gulls:
Great Blue Heron (8)
Great Egret (7)
Ring-billed Gull (50+)
Great Black-backed Gull (12)
Forster's Tern (6)
Caspian tern (4)

Summer Migrants:
Red-eyed Vireo (1)
Palm Warbler (4)
Black-throated Green (4)
Yellow-rumped (50+)
Scarlet Tanager (winter plumage) (1)

Winter Migrants:
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (6)
Brown Creeper (early?) (1)
