On 10/6/02 I visited Liberty Lake (Route 26, Oakland Road, and Route 32 =
sites), Westminster Reservoir, New Windsor, and Piney Run Park and found =
the following:

Liberty Lake:  Canada Goose  220
                    Bald Eagle  1 immature
                    Harrier  1 migrating
                    MERLIN  1 chasing a small passerine across the lake
                    Killdeer  21 (19 Route 26, 2 Route 32)
                    Greater Yellowlegs  1 Route 32
                    Lesser Yellowlegs  1 Route 32
                    Solitary Sandpiper  3 Route 32
                    Spotted Sandpiper  1 Route 32
                    Pectoral Sandpiper  10 (4 Route 26, 6 Route 32)
                    Ring-billed Gull  6 Oakland Rd

At Westminster Reservoir:  Canada Goose  165, Greylag Goose  1, Mallard  =
15, Green-winged Teal  6,  Killdeer  2,  Least Sandpiper  2, =
Yellow-rumped Warbler  10

At New Windsor: Canada Goose  9,  Wood Duck  6, Mallard  2, Green-winged =
Teal  10, Pintail 6, Killdeer  3

At Piney Run:  Pied-billed Grebe  1
                    Great Blue Heron  1
                    Great Egret  1
                    Mallard  15
                    Black Duck  24
                    Baldpate  9
                    Shoveler  1
                    Green-winged Teal  1
                    REDHEAD  1 male
                    Ring-necked Duck  6
                    Hooded Merganser  1 (may have summered here)
                    Ruddy Duck  7
                    Chimney Swift  25
                    Barn Swallow  1

The presence of the locally record early Redhead and the large number of =
Black Ducks indicates there was a significant waterfowl migration this =
weekend.
