It is an amazing optical device and a relative bargain in terms of price. However, as others have mentioned, it is heavy and large. Also, you are probably going to have to invest additional funds in a heavier and higher quality tripod in order to eliminate vibration/shake. Most light and even middle-weight tripods just aren't up to the task. All in all, great scope. R.
