Subject: Rock Creek Park, 10/8

A wonderful fall morning at the Rock Creek Park maintenance yard. The
place was full of birds, especially Ruby-crowned Kinglets, White-throated
Sparrows, Northern Flickers, and Common Grackles. Several birds were fall
firsts for me: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Winter
Wren, Hermit Thrush, and Dark-eyed Junco. Warblers included Tennessee,
Black-throated Blue, Magnolia, Palm, and Common Yellowthroat. Sparrows
included Chipping, Song, and Swamp. Other birds seen: Eastern Phoebe,
House Wren, Wood Thrush, Red-eyed Vireo, and Scarlet Tanager.
