Bonnie led eight members of the Howard County Bird Club went on a sparrow marathon today. Over nine hours, a total of 876 sparrows of nine species [Song, Swamp, Savannah, Field, White-throated, White-crowned, Lincoln's (16), Chipping, and Grasshopper (1)] were tallied. Warblers seen included: Orange-crowned, Black-and-white, Tennessee, Nashville, Black-throated Blue, Palm, Common Yellowthroat, and Yellow-rumped. Other birds of interest included Dickcissel, Am. Bittern, Green-winged Teal, Peregrine Falcon, Harrier, Marsh Wren, and Blue-headed vireo.
