     This morning (10/14) from 8:00 to 8:30 a Wilson's Phalarope was present
at the new Talbot County Wetlands of Pickering Creek Audubon Center. The
bird was in the company of some 15 Lesser Yellowlegs. Five Greater
Yellowlegs were also around. The Phalarope did some feeding in the short
grass beside the water so as to show off its yellow legs. Lighting was
splendid since I was viewing toward the west from a spot along the PCAC
driveway with the sun at my back. The bird was initially following close to
a single Lesser Yellowlegs in one of the middle ponds of the wetland. Later
it abandoned that pond and spent its time with the larger group of birds in
the pond closest to the farm buildings. The bird was still present when I
left the premises.
