Subject: Kenilworth Park, DC - 10/14 Comments: cc: Janni Ottavio , Jason Berry MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit After hitting Rock Creek Park this morning (I believe others have posted a report from there), I went to Kenilworth Park in NE DC to look for the E. Meadowlark & Lincoln's Sparrow that had recently been reported. Alas, I didn't find either of those two species, but I did find the following highlights: 1 MARSH WREN - in the middle of the meadow (not at the Aquatic Gardens), my first for KP 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER - 1st year bird, very pale but with strong yellow undertail coverts Plus: 1 albino CANADA GOOSE - flyover with 3 other Canada's. Thought I had finally found my DC Snow Goose, but once again couldn't string it along 2 COOPER'S HAWKS 1 RED-TAILED HAWK 1 RED-SHOULDERED HAWK (a good hawk day all around) 10 PALM WARBLERS - 6 Yellow, 2 Western, 2 unident. 6 SAVANNAH SPARROWS 20 SONG SPARROWS 2 SWAMP SPARROWS 10 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS Plus 2 RUDDY DUCKS on the Anacostia R. along Anacostia River Park.
