That was nothing more than an anti-hunting jab. I simply pointed out some more realistic reasons for this sighting (and possible lack of any before). As far as my comment on birders, it was not meant negatively. It is just a fact. We birders are not invisible to hawks and just as likely to send them into flight. There is actually more chance that we would disturb such a bird. We are generally obvious in our approach and we stare at them, which raptors do not like. There could have been a hunter nearby, in camo and still (except for the fact that they all came to Frederick today - even in the rain). You'd be amazed at what you can see if you take some tips from hunters.
