The watch began in 1995, and the site is manned by volunteers from the Cecil Bird Club and other affiliated Clubs in the area. Generally counters are only present from ~ 9AM - 12 PM. Last year we had complete coverage, but it seems we may not have such good fortune this year. ( Acutally, we have only missed a few days thus far, ) For more complete site information, including volunteering at the site, view www.udel.edu/cecilbirds This update includes through 10/21, but with data missing from3 days of counting, including a count of 91 raptors on 10/22. The numbers also do not reflect the 2 GOSHAWK that have been documented thus far. All three falcons continue to fly over the watch, and the numbers of Red-shouldered and Red-tailed hawks are increasing and should continue to do so. As always, our feisty little Sharp-shinned Hawks continue to make up the bulk of the count! In 156 count hours there were a total of 2011 raptors: BV-29 TV-275 OS- 104 BE-129 NH-14 SS-957 CH-119 RS-27 BW-96 RT-135 AK-61 ML-15 PG-15 UU-35 Leslie Fisher Watch Coordinator ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
