After a few minutes, it flew alone to a soccer field near Independence Avenue west of the road by the Roosevelt memorial. This adult was seen by Lisa Shannon, Paul Pisano, and me. The time was around 8:30 am. On Heritage Island in the Anacostia River we saw an Eastern Phoebe, an immature White-crowned Sparrow, and several Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers.
