Leslie:
Hi, I was there (the hawk watch) on Monday the 28th (alone). Two and half
hours and only three Raptors! (2 peregrins though!!) I'll email Dave Kimbel
the particulars. While I was there there was a HUGE flock of mixed Robins
and Eastern Bluebirds other birds mixed in the flock were Waxwings,
Brown-headed Cowbird, Blue Jay, Northern Flicker and RUSTY BLACKBIRD!(male
and female). The flock feasted for over and hour on dogwood berries. I also
saw both Kinglets, Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler and both subspecies of
Palm Warbler. Later in the day i went to Bombay Hook and added Ring-necked
Pheasant to my life list!. there are many many ducks at Perry Point. All
in all Monday I saw 16 species of waterfowl!
-Chris
PS-- i am going try real hard to be at the Owl walk this friday

The Turkey Point Hawk Watch is located in Cecil County Maryland, at the
tip of the Elk Neck Peninsula, in the Elk Neck State Park. The watch
began in 1995, and the site is manned by volunteers from the Cecil Bird
Club and other affiliated Clubs in the area. Generally counters are only

present from ~ 9AM - 12 PM. Last year we had complete coverage, but it
seems we may not have such good fortune this year. ( Acutally, we have
only missed a few days thus far, ) For more complete site information,
including volunteering at the site, view
www.udel.edu/cecilbirds

On 10/26 Candi Lee counted 10 birds in 2.5 hrs: BE-2, SS-5, CH-1, AK-2

10/27 Pat Valdata and crew fared better between 0730 and 1200, scoring
all 3 FALCONS, a GOSHAWK( 1000 to 1100 hr) and SHORT EARED OWL. The
latter flew right overhead.
SS-19, BE-2, RT-5, AK-3, ML-2, TV-2, PG-1, RS-3, CH-3 , NG-1 ( 41 )
