The upper end of the lake is off limits without a permit. The park is now closed for the season but you may park near the gate and walk in. The park may be open at times for special events but watch for signs to tell you when the gate closes. A map showing the trails is posted on signs at several points in the park. Otherwise the Nature Center if it is open is the only place to get one.
