Date: Sat, 2 Nov 2002 22:28:08 -0500 Reply-To: Maryland Birds & Birding Sender: Maryland Birds & Birding From: Trisha Nyland Subject: Carroll County Sparrow MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi there, Upon studying a troup of white throats today at Morgan Run, off of Nicodemus rd in Carroll County, a specimen popped into view of which I can only describe as being similar to a song sparrow, however, more dainty, with finer breast streaks and a buff color about it. It also had much more gray about it's head than a song sparrow. The typical "chest spot" of the song sparrow's was replaced by a just a faint gray hint of color. All of my resources point to Lincoln's sparrow. I do hope that I am correct, as I have been waiting quite some time for the distinct encounter.
